Duties and Timetable for CLA Program Co-Chairs and Organization Committee

Program Co-Chairs

  1. must follow CLA Rules, exceptions must be approved by the Steering Committee (SC)
  2. cooperate with the Organization Committee
  3. invite Program Committee (PC) members, the invited PC members must be approved by SC – a list of PC members must be completed not later than 10 months before the conference date
  4. send at least three times a Call For Papers for the conference – 9, 7 and 5 months before the conference date
  5. organize journal Special Issue after the conference – the prospective journals must be approved by SC not later than 6 months before the conference date
  6. select candidates for invited speakers, the candidates must be approved by SC – 4 months before the conference date
  7. maintains a paper submission system and ensures a fair single-blind peer-review of the submitted papers, each paper must be sent for review to at least 3 members of PC, each paper must be reviewed by at least 2 reviewers before a decision to accept or reject is made
  8. made decision to accept or reject a paper – 2 months before the conference date at latest
  9. put papers at CEUR – before the conference date
  10. attend the conference
  11. select the best paper of the conference for CLA Best Award, with the help of PC members – during the conference
  12. send SC basic statistics such as the numbers of submissions, accepted papers, participants, and the like – after the conference

Organization Committee

  1. must follow CLA Rules, exceptions must be approved by the Steering Committee (SC)
  2. cooperate with Program Co-Chairs
  3. maintains a timely conference website (CLA Homepage is not a timely conference website) – the first version of the website is expected to be released not later than 11 months before the conference date
  4. is supposed to seek additional funds for organizing the conference, basic conference fee must not exceed the equivalent of 250 EUR
  5. publishes printed conference proceedings – before the conference date
  6. prepares certificate for CLA Best Paper Award – during the conference
